These replacement fibreglass pole sections are tough and durable and more importantly, cheap and easy to replace. Ideal for repairing or replacing broken fibreglass pole sections. Each pole section is supplied at a standard length of 68.5cm with a metal end ferrule on one end. Includes a spare ferrule, 1 length of elastic and pole threader to make repairing your pole easy.
Usage: Ideal as an emergency repair kit or to build a complete new pole. All replacement poles are supplied at 68.5cm long so you may need to cut them to size with a junior hacksaw. To find the diameter of your pole you will need to measure the diameter of the end of your pole that does not have the ferrule attached.
Material: Fibreglass Pole Sections
Diameter: 13mm (12.7mm)
Length: Each Pole Section: 68.5cm (including ferrule)
Quantity: 5 Pole Sections, 1 Ferrule, 1 Elastic, 1 Pole Threader
How to Assemble the New Pole?
Disassemble the current pole assembly as follows:
• Hook the elastic holding pole sections at the end nearest the broken section and pull out so knot can be undone (or if necessary cut off)
• Release the elastic and pull back through pole sections to the broken section taking care to keep the pole sections in the correct order.
• Remove damaged section.
Cut the new section to same length as damaged section using a junior hacksaw.
Reassemble poles as follows:
• Replace broken section with new section
• Using a length of wire fixed to the end of the elastic (e.g. using tape) feed the elastic through all the poles in the correct order and re-knot at end.
Great spares. Really easy to fit and cut to size. Great price too.
I thought it might be curtains for our tent when two sections of the poles split in strong wind, but this kit is excellent, and it's all now in working order, and has survived a bunch of teenagers for a Christian camp.
We had to take the ferrules off the new poles in the kit and replace them with the slightly larger ones from the old poles. You can do that by warming them over the gas cooker until you can push / pull them off, then glue the other ferrules on with Araldite. Also had to cut them down to size - quite straightforward with a hacksaw. Brilliant to be able to repair the tent for just £13. And still several poles left in case we have the same problem.
Ordered to replace two broken tent pole sections on my kalahri 8 tent. Quick turnaround on order and product very easy to cut down to size and to fit. Poles did a great job over our recent long festival weekend despite strong winds and heavy rain
